Scope of Homelessness

Have we served a doctor in our shelter? Yes, and a social worker, a carpenter, a waiter, and a forklift driver. We're not sure that we have ever sheltered an M.D. but we did a PhD. And, we believe, all the careers and job titles of you, your friends and neighbors. Why are we so sure? Because we know that being homeless is not job specific. It doesn’t spare gender, age, race or ethnicity. It is equal opportunity misery.

We could write for pages (many have) about the root causes of this insidious crisis. This is not about referencing homelessness. It is about the men who are not homeless now because they are home with us.

So, are we concerned about the root causes of homelessness? You bet, because we have worked hand in hand with hundreds of Milwaukee’s homeless. Please help us to wipe out homelessness one individual at a time.

We highly recommend that you write a letter to your congressman about root causes of homelessness and write a check to us because now you know we are making a difference.
